Department Economic Development
Mr. Sage is enrolled in the International Economic Development Council's (IEDC) Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) Program, successfully completing professional development courses including: Intro to Economic Development, Workforce Development, Real Estate Development and Reuse, Economic Development Credit Analysis, Managing Economic Development Organizations, Marketing & Business Attraction and Business Retention & Expansion.
In 2014, Mr. Sage was appointed to the NM Rural Council, an economic development advisory committee overseen by the NM Economic Development Department.
Previously, Mr. Sage served as Regional Planner for the Northwest New Mexico Council of Governments (NWNMCOG), a federally designed Economic Development District, managing and implementing annual work plans for the City of Grants, Village of Milan, and Cibola County. In addition to his role as Regional Planner, Mr. Sage served as NWNMCOG's program manager for regional economic development programs including the Northwest New Mexico Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) and the Native American Economic Development Investment Strategy (NAEDIS).
Mr. Sage obtained a double B.A., Political Science and Economics, as well as a Masters in Public Administration from the University of New Mexico.
