Health care is among the largest industries in the City of Gallup / McKinley County region. As a result, the City of Gallup is the health care hub for an estimated 200,000 people living in northwest New Mexico and northeast Arizona, including a service area that covers a substantial portion of the Navajo Nation.

Rehoboth McKinley Christian Health Care Services (Gallup, NM):
Rehoboth McKinley Christian Health Care Services (RMCHCS) is a fully integrated health care organization employing over 50 physicians and midlevel providers. There are two hospital campuses and two primary care and multi-specialty clinics, which offer a full range of services to Gallup and the surrounding area. RMCHCS also offers Behavioral Health Services, Home Health and Hospice Services.

Rehoboth McKinley Christian Hospital is the main campus.  This 69-bed general acute inpatient facility offers a wide range of medical and diagnostic services.  The main campus is also home to the Surgical Services Unit and the Emergency Department.

Indian Health Service

Gallup Indian Medical Center (Gallup, NM)
Gallup Indian Medical Center (GIMC) is a 99-bed hospital. GIMC serves as a referral center for all hospitals on the Navajo Nation, as well as, primary and acute care services for the Indian population of the Gallup service area serving an eligible area population in excess of 200,000. The workload at GIMC is one of the largest in the Indian Health Service with 250,000 outpatient encounters and 5,800 inpatient admissions annually. GIMC has the largest staff of all Navajo Area IHS facilities.

Crownpoint Health Care Facility (Crownpoint, NM):

The Crownpoint Health Care Facility is a 32 bed hospital serving a population of over 20,000 Navajo people. The staff consists of primary care physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.

Tohatchi Health Care Center (Tohatchi, NM):
The Tohatchi Health Center is one of the newest facilities operated by the Navajo Area Indian Health Service, having been opened in 1994. The facility is staffed by four physicians and specialty clinics are operated by consultant staff from the Gallup Indian Medical Center. In addition to pediatrics, internal medicine and family medicine, services provided include pharmacy, physical therapy, x-ray, laboratory, public health nursing, optometry, dental, and health education.

Zuni Indian Hospital (Zuni Pueblo, NM):
The Zuni Indian Hospital is a 45-bed general medical hospital and provides a full range of out-patient services. The hospital has 37 medical/surgical and pediatric beds and 8 obstetrical beds. A research center, staffed by the University of New Mexico's Departments for Pediatrics, Communicative Disorders and Medicine, is also housed by the facility. Full outpatient diagnostic and treatment facilities include emergency treatment and a casting room as well as specialty services such as well-baby, family planning and mental health clinics, and substance abuse and nutrition services.

New Mexico Cancer Center (Gallup, NM):
The New Mexico Cancer Center is a state-of-the-art, 18,000-square-foot cancer care facility located in Gallup. This full-service facility, staffed with both a medical oncologist and a radiation oncologist, is committed to providing culturally appropriate, technically superior, patient-centered cancer care.
