The Economic Roundtable - "Downtown, Tourism, and Energy" convened over 40 stakeholders from local, state, federal and tribal governments, academia, and the private sector, to formulate a response to erosion of the Gallup-McKinley County base economy, which consist primarily of energy related industries facing tremendous federal regulatory headwinds.
On February 5, 2015 in Santa Fe, NM, a total of 41 stakeholders representing private, public, state, local, federal, tribal, and non-profit entities came together to enhance and strengthen economic development efforts in the Gallup-McKinley County.
On January 26th, 2018, the Greater Gallup Economic Development Corporation (GGEDC) convened over 50 leaders and colleagues for the 2018 Economic Roundtable, which fostered strategic consultation on the theme: Building a Workforce Pipeline in Construction, Logistics and Manufacturing.
This report summarizes the feedback received during the Economic Roundtable held on February 10, 2017, including 'bar-camp' breakout sessions on the concerns, solutions, and opportunities related to improving the economic health of Gallup-McKinley County. It also includes as an appendix an electric survey conducted after conclusion of the Forum.
