Michael Sage Honored with NMIDEA Award

Gallup, NM – Michael Sage, Deputy Director for Greater Gallup Economic Development Corporation (GGEDC), recently received the Developer of the Year Award at the NM IDEA Annual Membership Meeting.

Michael received the award as a result of his advocacy for struggling McKinley County businesses during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic by helping to save over 125 manufacturing jobs, with assisting the City of Gallup to obtain grant resources, and for leading an initiative to create a new industrial cluster in Gallup, NM related to the development of Autonomous (driver less) Vehicles.

The Developer of the Year Award recognizes the outstanding efforts of a person who spearheaded a major project that relocated, consolidated or expanded in New Mexico during the preceding twelve (12) months. A person who prepared a community for economic growth in a unique way.

NM IDEA awards are given to individuals and/or organizations to encourage, recognize, and promote outstanding achievements and professionalism in the field of economic development.
