Two year contract connecting Gallup to Phoenix begins August 1st, Tickets on Sale Now
Gallup, N.M. and Hawthorne, CA (July 7, 2022) — Gallup city officials recently announced that they have selected Southern California regional airline, Advanced Air, as Gallup’s new air service provider for Gallup Municipal Airport (GUP). In support of the new air service, Gallup was awarded the first grant from the State of New Mexico Rural Air Service Enhancement (RASE) Act that was implemented last year.
Under the two-year contract, beginning August 1, 2022, Advanced Air will provide one daily flight seven days a week to and from Gallup and Phoenix Sky Harbor, Terminal 3 (PHX). Fixed pricing starts at $75 + tax each way or customers can purchase in packets of 10 tickets at a discounted price of $67.50 + tax per seat, for an all-inclusive cost of $826.60. Customers will be treated to free snacks and drinks aboard Advanced Air’s 9-seat King Air 350 jet.
Gallup is the first city to receive a grant from the state of New Mexico. The act was put into place to guarantee that small communities without scheduled operations could attract regular air service, providing access to a large or medium-hub airport. This program provides a mix of State and City-allocated funds to induce airlines to enter the smaller markets in New Mexico.
“We welcome Advanced Air to connect us to the outside world, given we have the railroad through BNSF and the major highway I-40. The horizon to the future is bright and exciting,” said Gallup Mayor, Louie Bonaguidi.
“Providing accessible local air travel is a critical and necessary component for a region’s economic vitality,” said Levi Stockton, Founder & President of Advanced Air. “We are steadfast in our commitment to serve the City of Gallup with a premium, reliable and safe product and thrilled to be a part of this warm and welcoming community.”
“The RASE Act was created with the sole intention to spur economic development in rural New Mexico, and I’m beyond pleased for Gallup, a city that serves as an economic hub for 70,000 people on a weekly basis, to be the first recipient of this grant,” said Representative Patty Lundstrom.
Gallup becomes the fourth city in New Mexico served by Advanced Air, which also includes Silver City’s Grant County Airport (SVC), Albuquerque’s International Sunport Airport (ABQ), and Taos Regional (TSM).
