State kicks in $200K for renovation of two historic NM theaters

The New Mexico Economic Development Department announced $100,000 grants Monday for renovation efforts at two of the state's historic theaters.
Gov. Susana Martinez and Economic Development Secretary Jon Barelaannounced the state has awarded $100,000 each to the El Morro Theater in Gallup and the Silco Theater in Silver City as part of the Historic Theater Initiative, which aims to increase rural downtown traffic in New Mexico cities and provide entertainment options by restoring historic theaters.
