Gallup/McKinley County is at the Front of the Line in Energy Development with Multifuel Stations

    October 28, 2025

The Gallup/McKinley area has been driven by natural resource production for a century. A collaboration between GGEDC, McKinley County, NMED and NMDOT is driving forward a project with the potential to add hydrogen and other fuels to that expertise through a Greater Gallup multifuel refueling hub facility.

The hub would serve commercial trucks and other vehicles fueled by Hydrogen, electric energy or other alternative fuel sources as part of the State’s “I-40 Decarbonization” initiative.

Multifuel facility could place Gallup at the front of the line

Gallup’s location along a major interstate and freight corridor offers regional businesses an exponential opportunity. Participants can be pivotal players in a three-state effort to establish I-40 as a “Clean TradePort Corridor” centered on strategically placed Hydrogen and EV refueling stations. Contact GGEDC today to learn more about Greater Gallup’s potential to add greater energy possibilities to the region!
