Greater Gallup EDC Staff is Cultivating National and International Company and Investor Interest in McKinley County, NM in November
October 28, 2021
Gallup, NM – Patricia Lundstrom, Executive Director of Greater Gallup Economic Development Corporation (GGEDC), will attend a trade show and an international business conference in early November with the objectives of showcasing Gallup-McKinley County, NM to national and international companies and investors, learning about state-of-art food and beverage processing, and exploring new Foreign Direct Investment opportunities.
The Process Expo trade show in Chicago brings together over 400 companies from around the world to exhibit the latest advancements, technology and equipment in food processing and packaging. The Food and Beverage sector (including canning, water bottling, beer brewing, milk processing, wine, cheese, dressing and baked goods production) topped a 2019 list of industries that the Foote Consulting Group, LLC, a professional consultant, recommended to target and recruit to McKinley County. The trade show provides opportunities for education in proven solutions, trends, research, and cutting-edge technology.
From Chicago, Lundstrom travels to Atlanta for the 2021 Transatlantic Business & Investment Conference organized by the Transatlantic Business & Investment Council (TBIC), the primary platform in Europe for companies interested in expanding operations and investment into the U.S.
In 2019, through a GGEDC-led initiative, Gallup, NM became a TBIC Qualified Community for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Gallup is one of four such TBIC member communities located in the Southwestern U.S. and the founding member in New Mexico. According to TBIC, Europe is the largest annual source of foreign direct investment for the United States.
The theme for this year’s TBIC annual conference is “Jumpstarting Transatlantic FDI Recovery.” The conference offers an abundance of workshops and opportunities to network with European companies and investors. Workshops focus on:
- Building the workforce of tomorrow and developing the right local talent pipeline for existing and future European investors,
- The Status of transatlantic investment and the new U.S. Administration, and
- Utilizing new digital tools to stand out in the post-Covid Marketplace.
Executive Director Lundstrom continues to champion efforts to help build Gallup-McKinley County from the outside in.
