New Mexico ranked a leading state for clean technology
June 14, 2013
Dan Mayfield - Albuquerque Biz Journal | New Mexico is one of the best places for clean technology development, according to a new report.
New Mexico was ranked as the seventh-best state in the nation for clean tech by Clean Edge, a research and marketing firm in San Francisco.
The company ranked states based on technology (such as solar development), policy (New Mexico requires utilities to provide renewable energy), smart meters, emissions, clean-tech patents and more.
New Mexico was lauded for the work the national laboratories in the state are doing on renewable energy, such as Sandia National Laboratories’ solar work and Los Alamos National Laboratory’s fuel cell and smart grid research.
