NM opens one-stop-shop for businesses

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A new one-stop online shop may make the complexities of launching and growing businesses a little easier for local entrepreneurs.
The New Mexico Business Portal, which the Department of Information Technology launched on June 29, offers a free, comprehensive array of educational materials and links to agencies and resources that can help entrepreneurs streamline the process of planning, starting, maintaining and growing a local company.
Information Technology spent about 18 months designing and constructing the site, which the state Legislature financed with $1.45 million in funding in 2015 and 2016, said department spokesman Wyndham Kemsley. The project grew out of 2014 legislation that mandated creation of an online portal to simplify the process of interacting with state government when setting up a business.
