Springhill Suites by Marriott coming to Gallup, New Mexico

30 jobs to be created with stylish, all-suite hotel

Gallup, NM – Greater Gallup Economic Development Corporation announced today SHS Investors LLC of Salt Lake City has selected Gallup, NM as the location for its newest hotel project, Springhill Suites by Marriott. The 93 room hotel will be located at 1111 W. Lincoln Avenue. The official groundbreaking ceremony will take place on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. The project will be led by PEG Development and Pearson Hospitality Group of Utah and financed locally by Pinnacle Bank.

“We are pleased to be able to deliver a leading industry brand to the Gallup market. By building Springhill Suites by Marriott, we will better accommodate a wide range of guest’s lodging needs for both the business and leisure traveler in the Gallup area,” said Graydon Pearson, CEO of Pearson Hospitality Group, management company for the hotel. “The hotel’s location is key. It is just minutes from Interstate I-40, downtown Gallup, and nearly 1,000,000 square feet of commercial space.”

The hotel’s design provides a seamless blend of style and function at an affordable price. Approximately 75 employees will be engaged by the general contractor, R&O Construction of Salt Lake City, UT and its subcontractors during peak construction activity. Once stabilized the hotel will employ more than 25 full- and part-time associates with a scheduled opening first quarter 2016.

The role of GGEDC was to provide company executive and site selector briefings as well as research and statistics on our local economy,” said GGEDC Executive Director Patty Lundstrom. “At GGEDC, we were excited to work with SHS Investors LLC who have roots in the Gallup economy and have supported efforts to expand services to Native American populations. We are delighted with the outcomes of our economic development efforts and welcome Marriott to Gallup.”
