New Mexico Adopts Mobile Driver's License
January 2, 2025
New Mexico is proud to be on the leading edge of states offering residents a mobile driver’s license that can be carried in their Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
Mobile driver’s licenses will soon be accepted by TSA at the Albuquerque Sunport, and New Mexico businesses will increase their acceptance of mobile IDs in the coming weeks and months.
To add your mobile driver’s license on an iPhone. Open Apple Wallet, click “+” and choose “Driver’s License or State ID.” Choose New Mexico and follow the screen prompts. You will need to scan a copy of your physical driver’s license to complete the process.

To add your mobile driver’s license to an Android phone, open the Google Wallet app, click “Add to Wallet,” choose “ID Card.” Choose New Mexico and follow the screen prompts. You will need to scan a copy of your physical driver’s license to complete the process.
