As a central hub of healthcare for 200,000 individuals across northeastern Arizona and northwestern New Mexico, Gallup has a variety of facilities designed to meet their patients needs. One of these facilities, Gallup Indian Medical Center, has the largest staff of all Navajo Area IHS facilities.
Hosting 99-bed’s, GIMC operates as a referral center for all hospitals in the Navajo Nation, in addition to serving as a primary care service for the Native American population throughout the Gallup region. GIMC encounters around 5,800 inpatient admissions annually, with 250,00 outpatient encounters, making it one of the largest hospitals for the Indian Health Services in the country.
